HEALING ROOM

Picture
Installation, Healing Room  2011
SomArts in SF
One afternoon, while in my studio I began to cut ribbons of fabric. I often incorporate fabric and textiles in my paintings that have been languishing in my closets. I decided to create an interactive healing room installation, where one could literally swim through the transluscient ribbons of fabric by using their arms like paddles. An installation that would allow the viewer to come inside and experience cleansing of spirit through the light and sheer strands of healing colors.
Additionally, I hung my paintings from, "The Accident", series in the room. This work evolved just after I was struck by a pick up truck while crossing the street as a pedestrian in 2010. My healing room helped me to move forward in life and hopefully it helped others as well.
